ARSENIK FESTIVAL VOL. II
Arsenik turns 8 years old!! And we want to celebrate with you!
On January 30th, we’re throwing one hell of a festival to celebrate 8 years of Arsenik!
The festival was originally supposed to take place in Malmö, but due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to move it to Copenhagen.
We’re incredibly happy and grateful that Ungdomshuset in Copenhagen opened their doors and made it possible for us to host the festival there. HUGE THANKS!!
And what better way to celebrate than with an absolutely insane lineup?!
HERE ARE THE BANDS:
G-ANX
Swedish “Kir for Pleasure” punk cult legends! G-Anx return to the stage for the very first time since 1997. Raw and frantic, their brief existence left a mark far beyond the handful of records they released. This is an exclusive and extremely rare chance to see G-Anx live again!
DETESTATION
Portland crust punk legends! Detestation delivered some of the most ferocious and politically charged hardcore punk to come out of the 90s. Raging female-fronted vocals, relentless d-beat and uncompromising anarcho-punk attitude. The last time they played in Europe was all the way back in 1998! An absolute cult band and an incredibly rare chance to experience their fury live again!
SKITSYSTEM
No speed no punk legends! Few bands are as synonymous with Gothenburg crust as Skitsystem. Formed all the way back in 1994, they carved out their own particularly bleak strain of d-beat. Always a pleasure!
AGRIMONIA
Gothenburg’s Agrimonia take the foundations of crust and stretch them into something even darker. Formed in 2005 and featuring members from Skitsystem and Martyrdöd, they move effortlessly between crushing riffs, bleak atmosphere and slow-burning passages.
VICIOUS IRENE
Vicious Irene have been doing things their own way since forming in Gothenburg in 2001. Fierce, political hardcore punk backed by more than two decades of records, DIY touring and shows across Europe and well beyond!
PISTOL PISTOL
PISTOL “Dansk skalle” hardcore punk from K-Town! No polished edges, no unnecessary bullshit. Pistol Pistol Pistol deliver punk the way it should be, loud and straight to the point!
HEAVY BLEEDING
PMS punk from Gothenburg! Heavy Bleeding bring another dose of raw Swedish punk to the bill. Abrasive and stripped of anything that doesn’t need to be there. Music made for small rooms, loud amps and damaged ears!
BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!!
Besides the festival on January 30th, we’ve got a whole lot of shit going on that weekend!
JANUARY 29TH
“KIR FOR PLEASURE” PRE-PARTY AT ARSENIK!
We’re kicking off the celebrations at our shop and bar in Malmö!
Expect happy hour at the bar, loads of Kir drinks, various happenings and Usman from Bunkerpunks joining us for some cassette tape disco!
We’ll also be screening JAWBREAKER, Tomas Haglund’s documentary about the legendary Anti Cimex, completely free of charge!
The pre-party takes place at Arsenik, Södra Förstadsgatan 38, Malmö, on January 29th.
We’d love to see as many of you there as possible! After all, this whole crazy weekend is one big celebration of Arsenik’s 8th birthday, and it wouldn’t be the same without you!
And as if Arsenik turning 8 wasn’t enough, we’re also celebrating our very own Mika turning 50!!
IMPORTANT TICKET INFORMATION!
For those of you who have already purchased tickets through a ticket provider other than our Nortic account: your tickets are still valid!
We also want to make something good out of a shitty situation. The price difference on these tickets, after VAT and taxes have been deducted, will be donated to our friends who have found themselves in deep shit following the incident after the Totalitär show, as well as to one of Arsenik’s employees who is currently struggling financially and could really use some help.
Punk is about looking out for each other and we want to help out where we can.
So grab yourself a ticket, bring your friends, come see some insanely good bands and celebrate with us!
There will be 100 tickets available at the door for only 100 DKK each, for those of you who are a bit short on cash. We want everyone to have a chance to join the party!
LET’S MAKE THIS ONE HELL OF A FUCKING WEEKEND!!
